Arsenal Interactive joins the TanglerLive Revolution

August 13th, 2010

The Arsenal Interactive web site is centered around bringing the legion of Arsenal fans together to share in pre- and post-match revelry. At this site http://www.arsenal-interactive.com fans can rate every Arsenal player after every match, write up their own comments on the ratings, give their thoughts on the game itself, share the entire interactive anthology with a host of social networking sites and chat in real time with fellow Arsenal fans! And of course if they are ‘chatting’ as illustrated by the Embed at the foot of this page, they are chatting courtesy of TanglerLive!

July 27th Release

July 28th, 2010

At TanglerLive we are committed to listening to our users and continually striving to make our app best-of-breed. (Note from Ed. Not that we face a direct competitor but in our broad church of social networks, commenting and collaboration there are some good products out there and we want TanglerLive to always ’shine’).  The main objective of this latest release is to enable users to invite their friends to a particular conversation or to TanglerLive in general in the easiest and most seamless manner possible. This capability has always existed, we just wanted to make it better.

To this end, users will find a new tab on the right hand side of every topic. Called “Invite your friends!” The tab gives users direct access to their friends on Facebook and contacts on Gmail and Yahoo! Also from here, users are able to email their friends directly in a pop-up box. All without leaving the page.

We would love you to check this out and we look forward to welcoming you back to TanglerLive.

Best wishes, Alex von Kotze, CEO.

Downtime announcement – a small adjustment to your favourite app

July 27th, 2010

Hello TanglerLive-ers!

TanglerLive looks forward to seeing you again very soon!

Brought to you by our latest release

June 4th, 2010

Dear TanglerLive Community

This time last month we posted news about new features we had deployed specifically to address …. offensive language; the ability to “quote” other users’ messages; the deployment of flashing tab updates to signal the arrival of new messages and …. improved navigation. Well, don’t imagine our engineers have since been holidaying! Here’s an outline of what’s new with the very latest release:

New Text Editor

What’s a Text Editor? It’s that box where you do your writing, post your links, embed your pictures.

If you play with this you will find aside from an improved actual text editor, posting of images and videos is altogether neater.

Moderation tool: Banning users

We really hope this tool will not have to be taken up too regularly! A creator of a topic has ownership of that topic and if he or she wants to delete it and everything that goes with it then that’s the creator’s prerogative. Some of our users asked whether we could improve upon that capability? They said “What a about a situation where a topic is going swimmingly but one little user is being annoying, offensive or plain objectionable?” Well worry no longer. Registered Users can now ban an offending party. Run your cursor over a user’s name and as well as the usual … you can now Ban!

Were you to ban Loic whether as a Guest or as a Registered User this is what Loic would see. This is a hypothetical situation, at least we hope it is, when it comes to ‘Loic’. The thing is Loic is a talented staffer at Tangler! He is French too and you never want to make the French cross!

Please note Moderation Tools are only awarded to Registered Users who have created more than 5 topics.

Improved Performance

Our team regularly conduct code reviews to see what whether they other perhaps better ways to deliver our service. In our most recent review we found a way we could do some optimisation to  TanglerLive. These changes result in our now delivering an improved experience to all our users at their individual coal faces AKA their computers. Enjoy!
